We're here for you, we care about you, and we want to support you!
Each week we are running two online peer support sessions for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth (29 and under) in Hamilton.
During peer support hours, speqtrum staff are available on our Facebook and on Instagram (@speqtrumyhm) to chat, answer questions, provide peer + emotional support, and connect youth with resources in the community. (Note: we cannot offer counselling or crisis intervention). Youth are always welcome to message us outside of those hours, and we will respond as we are able.
Check out our Online Events page to see when we're running peer support each week!
In recognition that it can be really difficult to reach out again and again for support, speqtrum is also running weekly check-ins for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth (29 and under) in Hamilton.
This means that we reach out to you on a weekly basis, typically during peer support hours. During a check-in, a speqtrum staff or a peer support volunteer will ask how you're doing, give you an update on our online programming, and provide space to discuss issues/concerns. As with our usual peer support, we can't offer counselling or crisis intervention, but we can help with referrals to community members who can provide those services.
We can provide check-ins via Facebook, Instagram (@speqtrumyhm), email (firstname.lastname@example.org), or by phone. If you'd like a weekly check-in, contact us on our social media, or fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page. We'll ask you a few questions about the best way to contact you, and you'll be good to go!
